News from Vicki

14 March 2008

Lots happening now at Roycroft Stables, with my lovely RICARDO D finding a new home with junior rider Sophie Miller.  I am delighted that he is going to help a promising junior get going in the sport, and I'm sure they will have  a great time together.  My first grandchild, NIKE DH (by ERROL) also has a new home, as he is being purchased by Karine Gouriou, who has searched far and wide around NSW for a horse, but decided NIKE was the nicest one she has tried.  My concern is that he is still very green, but he has his dad's wonderful temprament, and the more time he and Karine spend together, the better it looks.

Show wise we have been busy, with both Camden and Muswellbrook shows last weekend.  All the gang were great at both shows.  Nakita won the 1.30 Power and Speed on JANE, and Jess Stalling was 1st and 2nd in the Junior on LITTLE CAVALIER and DUSTIN BONES.  IRISH, despite the trauma of the close by sideshows, jumped super in the Grand Prix to be 2nd to the wonderful COPABELLA VISAGE.  I am so proud of that horse;  I selected him in France as a 4 year old, and was lucky enough to be able to bring him up to Grand Prix/World Cup level over 4 years, and now at 11 he is really looking a world class horse, as I always thought he would be.  BLATINI  and CASSINI'S GIRL  also great, BLA getting more rideable every show.  Great tracks and organisation by the Camden Show, and the team of John Vallance and Jane Frankum, ably assisted by mum Jenny.

Muswellbrook Show the next day a bit more laidback, but it is always a great jumping show, thanks to the efforts of Brian Collard, and lovely tracks created by Sue Bettington.  CASSIE really showed she is coping with the step up by winning the 1.30 class.  Jess Stalling was caught up at SIEC, so I popped DUSTIN around to win the 1.20 class, with Nakita and JANE 2nd.  Gail Hunter won the 1.10 on MIDNIGHT ROCK, with my KOKO KHAN 2nd, and Lee and PUZZLE jumping a great double clear, their first run at that level, and 3rd place.

So Sydney Show getting closer, and hope all the team are hitting their straps at the right time.
