Hoping everyone has had a good New Year break! January is now looking a better time of year to give horses a bit of an easier time since the Tempo/Issa Show has been moved to December. And of course this is the first year for ages that we haven't had the consistently soaring temperatures!
But life goes on for horses and riders, and now we prepare to do Dapto World Cup Show, and then there's a couple of nice aggie shows leading up to the Royal Easter Show. Small team going to Dapto, which consists of ELIZA JANE, who will be the World Cup horse, RICARDO D, who although he was 2nd in the World Cup last year, is enjoying being the understudy to the 'big guns' now. But I'll see what pans out.
I also only want to start one so I can give a bit of time to student Danni Butcher, who is here this week hoping to be able to start in her first World Cup at Dapto on her wonderful mare, HP LANDSONG. This is a really exciting time for any rider, and unless Course Designer Bob Pritchard goes nuts with his track at Dapto, it should be an achievable aim. The third member of the equine team will be ACONIZA, who will be doing the C Grade classes.
The World Cup Leaderboard is pretty much decided, with Gavin Chesters' great comeback performances on the Melissa Froesch produced WARLORD having an unbeatable lead. The interest is which rider out of Paul Asthanasoff and Paula Hamood can get up for 2nd place, and have the option of a trip to Las Vegas. Also interesting at Dapto will be the return to the ring of the wonderful Greg and Cathy Chapman owned MR BURNS with Rod Brown, who helped the Australian Team to one of it's best ever WEG results last August
